Neurotoxins

Typically referred to as the brand name, Botox® but we offer a variety of brands. Neurotoxins are popular because they are literal “wrinkle relaxers” that quiet excessive muscle movement for a softer, smoother look. At Tighten It Spa, we carry multiple neurotoxins (Botox®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau®) so you can use your favorite and take advantage of the rewards and loyalty offers from each brand.

The Treatment

Areas Treated

  • Forehead

  • Glabella

  • Crow’s feet

  • Lipstick lines

  • “Bunny” wrinkles at the top of the nose

  • Chin dimples

  • Jawline

Appointment Preparation

  • Schedule your neurotoxin appointment at least 2-3 weeks before a special event that you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. Bruising and swelling may be apparent during that period.

  • Avoid alcoholic beverages for 24 hours as they can thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising.

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood-thinning medications, if possible for 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, and other NSAIDS have a blood-thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.

  • Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore, or blemish in the area.

  • You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Your Appointment

The injection process is quick typically taking 15 minutes to complete. There is minimal discomfort.

The Results

Following the treatment, you can begin to notice visible improvements in your skin in the days and weeks following treatment as the neuromodulator sets in. Since treatments are non-invasive, there is no required downtime following sessions. In order to maintain results, continued treatments spaced a few months apart is typically suggested.
