What Is EZGEL? Answers to the Questions We Hear Most

A Filler Made From You

EZGEL is an autologous bio-filler, which means it's made entirely from your own biological material. There are no synthetic ingredients, preservatives, or animal-derived products.

It does two jobs at once. The gel gives you immediate, subtle volume. The platelet-rich fibrin inside it releases growth factors that encourage your skin to build new collagen over the following weeks and months.

How Is ezGEL Made?

Everything happens in our office during your appointment:

  1. We draw a small amount of blood from your arm, similar to routine lab work.

  2. Your blood is spun in a centrifuge, which separates it into layers.

  3. The plasma layer is gently heated, which causes a protein called albumin to set into a smooth, soft gel. It's then cooled.

  4. The gel is mixed with your platelet-rich fibrin, the layer that contains your concentrated platelets and growth factors.

The result is a smooth injectable. The gel provides structure, and the PRF provides the regenerative activity.

What Can ezGEL Treat?

EZGEL is best suited to areas that benefit from soft, subtle volume:

  • Under-eye hollows  - Softens the shadowed, tired look caused by hollowness under the eyes. Dark circles caused by pigment rather than volume loss usually need a different approach, which we'll talk through at your consultation.

  • Cheeks and midface -  Restores gentle fullness where volume has faded.

  • Temples - Softens hollowing in the upper face.

  • Smile lines and marionette lines -  Softens the folds around the nose and mouth.

  • Neck lines and crepey skin -  Improves the look of fine horizontal neck lines and thin skin.

The Benefits of ezGEL

  • Made from you -  Because ezGEL contains only your own blood components, the risk of an allergic reaction is extremely low.

  • Volume plus regeneration - You get an immediate soft lift along with collagen stimulation that continues after your visit.

  • Natural-looking results -  The gel is soft and integrates with your tissue, so results tend to look refreshed rather than "done."

  • Another option in your plan. For patients who prefer a treatment made from their own body, ezGEL gives us one more way to restore volume, on its own or alongside other treatments.

Is ezGEL Right for You?

EZGEL tends to be a great fit if you have mild to moderate volume loss, want subtle and natural-looking results, and are comfortable with a series of treatments.

If you're hoping for more defined contours or have more significant volume loss, a different injectable may serve you better. We offer a full range of fillers and regenerative treatments, we'll recommend what truly fits your goals.

Treatment may also need to be postponed or reconsidered if you:

  • Have a blood clotting or platelet disorder

  • Take prescription blood thinners

  • Have an active infection, cold sore, or skin condition in the treatment area

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Are currently undergoing cancer treatment

We review your health history at every consultation to make sure ezGEL is a safe and appropriate choice for you.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Plan for about 60 minutes. Your visit includes:

  1. Consultation and numbing - We review your goals and apply topical numbing cream to the treatment areas.

  2. Blood draw - A small sample is collected from your arm.

  3. Gel preparation - Your blood is processed into ezGEL while the numbing takes effect.

  4. Injection - Your provider places the gel using a fine needle or a blunt-tipped cannula, depending on the area.

Recovery and Downtime

Most patients return to normal activities the same day.

  • First 24 to 48 hours: Mild swelling, redness, or tenderness at the injection sites is normal. The under-eye area may look a little puffy for a few days as the gel settles.

  • Bruising: Small bruises can happen and usually fade within three to seven days. Makeup can typically be applied after 24 hours.

  • Activity: For the first 24 to 48 hours, skip strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and alcohol to help minimize swelling.

Your Results Timeline

Right away: You'll notice some fullness. Part of this is the gel, and part is temporary swelling.

  • Weeks 2 to 4: Swelling settles and you'll see a truer picture of your result. Growth factors are working beneath the surface.

  • Months 2 to 3: Collagen-building improvements become more visible, often showing up as firmer, smoother, healthier-looking skin.

  • Long term: Your body gradually absorbs the gel over about three to six months. The collagen benefits can last beyond that, especially after a full series. Many patients schedule maintenance to keep results going.

Pairing ezGEL With Other Treatments

EZGEL works well on its own, and it can also be part of a broader plan:

  • RF microneedling improves surface texture and pores while ezGEL addresses volume beneath.

  • Neurotoxins like Botox® soften lines caused by muscle movement, while ezGEL restores volume in hollow areas.

  • Laser resurfacing, such as CO2, Fotona or 1540 fractional, targets pigment and texture on the surface while ezGEL supports deeper areas.

  • Other injectables can be used in different areas of the face during the same treatment plan, depending on your goals.

Before Your Appointment

  • Hydrate well in the days before your visit. It makes the blood draw easier.

  • Pause over-the-counter blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E for five to seven days beforehand, if your doctor approves. These can increase bruising and may affect how your platelets perform. Never stop a prescribed medication without talking to the doctor who prescribed it.

  • Set natural expectations. ezGEL creates a subtle, refreshed improvement, not dramatic change.

Frequently Asked Questions About EZGEL

Is ezGEL the same as PRP?

They're related but different. PRP is a liquid used mainly to improve skin quality. ezGEL combines platelet-rich fibrin with a heated plasma gel, so it also adds soft volume. We offer both, and we'll help you decide which fits your goals.

How long does ezGEL last?

The gel itself is typically absorbed over about two to three months, but long-term volume and skin improvements past that point are sustained by your body’s own newly synthesized collagen. Results can last 6-12 months, but vary with age, metabolism, lifestyle, and the area treated.

How many ezGEL treatments will I need?

Most patients do a series of two to three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. We'll recommend a plan based on your goals.

Can I be allergic to ezGEL?

Because ezGEL is made only from your own blood, an allergic reaction is very unlikely. Like any injectable, it can still cause swelling, bruising, tenderness, or, rarely, other complications, which is why it should always be performed by a trained medical provider.

Can ezGEL be dissolved?

No, ezGEL can't be dissolved the way hyaluronic acid fillers can with Hylenex®. Your body absorbs it gradually over time.

Does ezGEL help with dark circles?

It helps with dark circles caused by hollowness and shadowing under the eyes. Dark circles caused by pigmentation or visible blood vessels usually respond better to other treatments.

Does ezGEL hurt?

Most patients find it very tolerable. We use topical numbing, and the blood draw feels like routine lab work.

Will I Benefit from ezGEL?

The best way to find out is to let us take a look. We'll talk about what you're noticing, show you what ezGEL can realistically do for your skin, and tell you honestly if another treatment would serve you better.
