Microneedling

Microneedling is a great way to jump-start the skin’s repair process, creating youthful and vibrant skin. The treatment involves creating tiny controlled “wounds” to the skin. These wounds are minuscule and only skin-deep, but your body responds with alarm, sending in healing factors that boost skin strength, radiance, and health. As we age, collagen and elastin production slows, but microneedling can inspire your skin to renew its effort in collagen and elastin production. Microneedling helps your skin glow after just one treatment and continues to boost the appearance of your complexion for months afterward.

The Treatment
Appointment Preparation

Please remember you will need to apply numbing cream 1 hour before your appointment. You can pick up the numbing cream anytime before your appointment to apply at home, or you can apply it at the spa.

Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 5-7 days before treatment (waxing, depilatories, retinoids, etc.).

If there is dense hair in the area to be treated, please shave the day before the appointment to avoid irritation.

Avoid sun exposure (apply sunscreen daily and do not tan at all – including self-tanner) for 4 to 6 weeks before and after treatments.

Do not use any retinol products (or products containing tretinoin) or exfoliants on the area to be treated for one week.

Avoid Accutane (or isotretinoin products) for 6 months before your treatment.

Please let us know if you have a history of fever blisters. We can provide you with a prescription for prophylactic antiviral therapy to start on the day of the treatment to prevent a flare-up of cold sores.

You must notify us if you have had any cosmetic tattooing on or near the area to be treated.
Your Appointment
Length of appointment depends on areas treated, typically 30 to 45 minutes. Topical numbing cream applied one hour in advance makes the treatment easily tolerated.
The Results
Results are immediate and progressive. Optimal improvement is usually visible in 2 to 3 months, with continued improvement for up to six months as cellular rejuvenation continues to take place. This treatment can be done annually as maintenance for continued skin vitality.
